Next Week's Presentation Guidelines

  • Each presenter should speak for about 2 - 3 minutes (try not to go much more than 3 minutes; this means that you have to practice at least once so that you know how long it is going to take you to get through your slides)
  • Use photographs and key points, but do not copy and paste entire paragraphs off of Wikipedia
  • Use English-language sources: if you use Chinese sources the likelihood of errors will dramatically increase
  • Face the class, don't stand with your back turned to us
  • Do not read notes off your hand. Do not bring a note sheet up with you.
  • Photos of spicy girls or "hot guys" are OK, but no yellow movies.
  • If you can find a place that is off-the-beaten path, I will like it.
  • Don't rely on memorization: this will kill your intonation and fluency and make you sound robotic.
  • Try to find beautiful photos to enhance your presentations. Every country is photogenic, and I am sure that you can easily find good pics
